Welcome to the Inshes church website. This page tries to explain the more technical aspects of the site as well explaining how to use some of the accessibility features.
Using the Accessibility Features
How to change the font size
In Firefox; go to "View" -> "Text Size", and click on either "Increase" or "Decrease", to reset click on "Normal".
In Internet Explorer; go to "View" -> "Text Size", and then select one of the text size options; "Largest", "Larger", "Medium", "Smaller" or "Smallest".
Selecting the alternative "High Contrast" page style
If you have trouble viewing the site with the default colours, then you have the option (if you are a Firefox user) of selecting an alternative "High Contrast" colour scheme. This will display a white font on a black background. To select this; go to "View" -> "Page Style" -> "high contrast".
Printing
You will notice if you print a page from our web site (File -> Print), that the font is different to the one displayed, and some of the graphics used on the website are not printed. Don't worry this is by design, as by changing the font it makes the text easier to read on a printed page, and by removing the graphics it allows more text to be displayed on a printed page.
Pages that require some more explanation
What's New
This page is the website "blog". You should check back here quite often to see website updates, intimations, and details of special events etc etc (basically any news). The newest items are displayed at the top of the page. Each "blog" will have one or more "tags" associated with it. These "tags" let you know what the "blog" is about. So for example a "blog" telling you of a change of time for the banners group will be tagged "banners". If you then click on the "banners" tag it will show you all the "blogs" with this tag.
What's On
The top part of this page is a calendar of the events/groups/services on each week at the church. The bottom part of the page has a series of titles with a ">>" symbol next to each item. Each title refers to a group/event that is on at the church. If you click on the ">>" it will expand to give you an explanation of the group/event. There will also be a "link" that you can click on that will show you the latest info for this event/group. This "link" is just basically all the "blog" items (see above) that are tagged for this event/group. So for example if you click on the ">>" beside "banners", it will expand to give you a little info on the "banners" group, and if you click on the "link" it will take you to the "What's New" page, and show you all the latest info for "banners".
How To Find Us
This page uses Google Maps to show you where we are. To plan your route from your location to the Church, click on the "To Here" link and enter your starting location. Google Maps will then plot your route to Inshes Church.
Contact Us
We use a form so that you can contact us (it hides our email addresses from spammers). All Fields with an asterix (*) must be filled in for the form to work (you'll get an error message if you forget to fill one of the fields in). Once you click on the "submit" button you'll also have to enter a security number as displayed on the page (again this is to stop spammers targeting our site). Your message will be emailed to whoever you picked to contact from the drop down list.
Galleries
This section of the website will hold photos in/outside the church, activites, events etc. To start with there won't be many photos, but we hope to build up a collection over time. Photos will be displayed as "thumbnails" that can be clicked on and expanded up to full size.
Sermons
The last 6 months sermons should be available for download from here. The sermons will be in "mp3" format so that they can be downloaded reasonably quickly. The sermons will be ordered by date, to download a sermon click on the ">>" next to the date, right click on the sermon in question, and select "save" to save it.
